Karur Collector promises school building and a community hall

KARUR : Realise the value of education and come forward to send all your wards to schools, Collector T.N. Venkatesh told the Narikurava community members here on Saturday.

The district administration will support all their efforts in ensuring that the future generation is better off by providing them shelter and amenities, he added.

The Collector revealed that a member from the Narikurava community, Gajendran, had submitted a plea during a recent grievance day meet seeking free house site pattas for his community members who had no roof and were wallowing in poverty. Following that the Collector, along with Revenue Department officials, visited the Vettaikaranpudur habitat of the Narikurava community and found that the plea had merit.

Moved by their plight, the Collector had directed the officials to issue free house site pattas to the Narikurava community members in the habitat and added that he was extremely satisfied to reach out to the community.

Mr. Venkatesh also promised more assistance to the habitat residents stating that a school building and a community hall would be established soon.

On the occasion, 47 beneficiaries were handed over free house site pattas covering 1.41 acres at Vettaikaranpudur.

The Karur MP, K.C. Palanisamy, who also participated in the function, said the State Government had relaxed the norms for regularisation of encroachments on poromboke land. He also promised to meet the Narikurava community requirements from out of his MP's Area Constituency Development Fund.
