TIRUPATI: Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) has taken up a project to place the great epic Mahabharata on the web for the benefit of net surfers and researchers across the globe. `e-prathi', the project taken up with the financial assistance of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), will be made an informative and all-encompassing version of the epic, by taking into consideration the various versions religiously followed across the country. The advisory committee of the meet, with RSVP Vice-Chancellor Harekrishna Satapathy in the chair, met here on Monday. It was decided to take inputs from `Sri Vavillavari Prathi' from South India and versions of Geetha Press, Gorakhpur and Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute from the North, for preparation of a standard and authentic copy in Devanagari script. An English description of all the 18 `parvas' (chapters) would also be made available. At the end, the cities, countries, mountains, rivers and other geographical specifications mentioned in the epic would be elaborated and their contemporary names, if any, be given as a ready reckoner. For the techno-savvy, the final product would be given as electronic text with hyper links.
