Mumbai: A jockey was arrested on charges of allegedly slowing down his horse at the Mahalaxmi racecourse, the Police said here on Monday. Raju Singh (20) was arrested following a complaint lodged by the racecourse authorities, Police said. He was riding Mazan, which started as favourite (in the Khaalis Plate) but finished third. ``With the intention that his horse must not win, Raju Singh pulled the reins of his horse causing losses to those who had placed bets on the horse and the owner and trainer,'' the Police said. The Royal Western India Turf Club had suspended the jockey following allegations of race fixing and declared the race null and void. — PTI
