Karthi and Priya Mani in "Paruthiveeran"
CHENNAI: Tamil film `Paruthiveeran', starring actor Sivakumar's second son Karthi, has some features to talk about. The film, directed by Ameer, has been shot only in Madurai and its surroundings. Audiences can hear all the artists' (including those of Karthi and leading lady Priya Mani) original voice, as no dubbing artists are involved something rare in the past decade or so. Actor Karthi visited the locations every week and held detailed discussions with the director on his physical appearance and makeup. Everyday, the actor would exercise for an hour and practise fight and dance sequences for around two hours. The actor says throughout the movie, one cannot see a mobile phone or a TV set in any frame. Only in one occasion, some frames show a car. Karthi says he is thrilled to act in such a film. "The subject is really rural with a different tone. All the songs have become a hit and the screenplay is new. Perhaps, that is why we found illegal printed wrappers, which people involved in video piracy are likely to use. The wrappers were recently confiscated by the police. But, till now, the CD has not been released." The film is produced by Studio green and Ramji handles the camera. Ponvannan and Ganja Karuppu have been cast in important roles.
