Repoll by and large peaceful in Manipur

IMPHAL: Repoll in 11 booths in Senapati and Thoubal districts on Monday were by and large peaceful.

Official reports said there was 70 per cent polling.

However no votes were cast in the Sajouba-A, Sajouba-B and Sajouba-C polling stations in Senapati district.

A powerful bomb was defused at Nongdren in Imphal East district on Monday. At Patsoi constituency the houses of candidate Sapam Keba and his campaign worker were fired upon on Sunday night.

In the Singjamei constituency the house of a woman was riddled with bullets and in the Sekmai constituency the house of a political activist came under fire. Three Congress workers in the Thanga constituency sustained fractures after they were beaten up.
