Lucknow: In compliance with the Allahabad High Court order, the Uttar Pradesh Government has withdrawn security to 776 people, including 55 student leaders, Home department spokesman said here on Monday. The Lucknow bench of the High Court had recently directed the State Government to withdraw facility of gunners from persons having criminal records and those who had been provided the security without following the rules. After the court directive, the government reviewed the matter and withdrew the facility provided to 776 people, 121 of whom had criminal records, Special Secretary, Home, Ashok Kumar Verma told reporters. The government is still reviewing the matter , he said. -- PTI
