THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An upper division clerk of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation was suspended on Monday evening after he was found to have misappropriated money to the tune of Rs.35 lakh, which was entrusted to him to be remitted at the District Treasury in 2006. The misappropriation came to light following an audit carried out by the Senior Accountant General. Following this, a report regarding the fraud was filed by the Accountant General to the Corporation Secretary P.K. Raveendran. "We have found out that Jeevan, a UD clerk with the accounts section has committed the fraud. We have also requested a detailed enquiry," Mr. Raveendran said.
