The days when travellers wrote travelogues are over. These days they capture the moments on sophisticated cameras. So, the announcement that A. Sujanapal, former Minister, would organise an exhibition of the photographs he took during his recent trip to African countries did not surprise anyone. For, he is not merely known for his political acumen, but also for his writings and paintings. Earlier, Mr. Sujanapal had organised an exhibition of photographs on the lush and ecologically important mangroves in the city. The exhibition was held at the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Art Gallery soon after he became a Minister in the Oommen Chandy-led Government. "Life in modern Africa is inextricably linked to the history, nature and heritage of the continent. Africa has retained its ancient magnificence and grandeur even in the midst of poverty and conflicts. My exhibition is an attempt to capture the life in contemporary Africa," he told. The three-day exhibition will open at the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Art Gallery on Friday.
