Puducherry: The Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Education and Research in Puducherry has scheduled to hold entrance examination on May 27 for selection of students to the first-year MBBS course (2007-2008). Dean of the JIPMER, Dr K.S. Reddy, said in a release here on Tuesday that the test would be held simultaneously in Puducherry, Chennai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram. The two and half hour-long test would begin at 10 a.m. He said that prospectus and application could be had from extension counter of the Bank of Baroda in the JIPMER campus between 9.30 a m. and 3 p.m. on all working days and between 9.30 a.m. and 12 noon on Saturdays. Cost of application was Rs.350 for general category candidates and it would be Rs. 250 for SC and ST candidates, he said. Applications could also be printed or sent through on line through the institute's website (www.jipmer.edu) . Last date for receipt of filled-in applications (both printed and on line) was March 28. Dr. Reddy said that the request for supply of prospectus and applications should be sent along with a self-addressed stamped envelop for Rs.50 and envelop size should be 26 cms x 32 cms. Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of Accounts Officer JIPMER payable in Puducherry.
