Lalu's in-laws slapped with fines

K. Balchand

PATNA: The Railways slapped fines and issued proper tickets to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's father-in-law and mother-in-law when they were found travelling without proper booking in Chapra on Tuesday.

The septuagenarians were travelling from Hajipur to Siwan aboard the Sampark Kranti Express when officials on the prodding of local journalists, who apparently were tipped off, found the couple in the AC first class coupe without authorised tickets.

The parents of the former Chief Minister, Rabri Devi, paid the fines and had proper tickets issued and continued their journey.
