Inter-district burglar nabbed

Rs 4.5 lakhs worth ornaments seized

ELURU: Police arrested an inter-district burglar at Jangareddygudem in West Godavari district on Tuesday and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 4.5 lakhs. Superintendent of Police M. Jaganmohan Reddy told reporters that K. Ramana (46) of from Bhadhrachalam was responsible for a series of house-breaking cases reported in Hyderabad, Nalgonda, Warangal, Khammam, West Godavari, East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts. Armed with an iron rod, he was allegedly adept at breaking the locks with ease. A team of police led by Jangareddygudem DSP Ch. Rama Rao nabbed Srinu when he was suspiciously moving around in the town.

Cash award

The SP presented a cash award of Rs 10,000 to constable M. Ramesh, who was instrumental in arresting fugitive G. Yesu, who escaped from Nuzvid sub-jail after arrested by the police in the case of serial killings reported at Rudhrakshapalli in Khammam district. The cash award was offered by Krishna district Superintendent of Police Murugesh Kumar Singh to the constable in appreciation of his role in the manhunt launched by the police of Krishna, Khammam and West Godavari districts in solving the sensational case.
