ANANTAPUR: Contract workers of Sri Satya Sai Water Supply project staged a novel protest by tonsuring their heads here on Tuesday evening in protest against the management's neglect of their problems.

Workers under the aegis of Satya Sai Water Supply Workers' Union affiliated to CITU are on relay fasts in front of the project board office here for the last 16 days. However, neither the contractor Larsen & Toubro nor the officials have responded to their protest so far.

Several workers of the union got their heads tonsured at the Tower Clock Circle in the evening in protest against the neglect of their demands by the management.

They vowed to continue their struggle for their demands.
