BELGAUM: The city-based Sangeet Kalakar Sangh will be organising special Hindustani and Carnatic Dance/Music concerts to mark its Goldeen Jubilee celebrations at Maratha Mandir here from February 16 to 18. According to president Ravindra Mane and secretary Shreedhar Kulkarni here on Tuesday, the Sangh was floated by eminent musicians including Pt. Rambhau Bijapure, Balasaheb Kulkarni and Pt. Sangameshwar Gurav with the objective of promoting Hindustani music and musicians in this part of the country. The sangh had been organising music concerts featuring accomplished artistes, amateurs and upcoming talents, besides holding workshops and seminars for the benefit of the young students of music. The three-day music festival has ensured representation to local artistes, including young and budding talents while inviting eminent vocalists and instrumentalists for live concerts. The concluding day will be marked by felicitations to Pt. Bijapure, Balasaheb Kulkarni and Pt. Gurav. Former Sanchalak of the sangh Hayavadan Joshi will also be felicitated for his significant contribution to the organisation. The felicitations will be followed by vocal renditions by eminent artists, Manjusha Kulkarni-Patil and Alka Deo Marulkar. The curtains will come down on the three-day festivities with the solo recital on Harmonium by Pt. Bijapure.
