Teachers gear up for stir

Kakinada: Teachers from various parts of the district left for Hyderabad on Tuesday to participate in the `siege Directorate of Education' programme in pursuance to the call given by the State Teachers Union (STU), according to P. Subbaraju, State secretary.

The STU leader said the teachers were demanding, among other things, uniform service rules, notional increment to all apprentice teachers, immediate application of old pension scheme to those selected by the DSC during the year 2002 and 2003.
