Kakinada: East Godavari District Collector M. Subrahmanyam has said 349 villages have been selected for implementation of the second phase of Indiramma programme. Monitoring committees have also been constituted for each of them. He said the village monitoring committees would be headed by sarpanch and consists of village secretary as member convenor besides one each from Rajiv Yuva Sakti and women self-help groups and three from local bodies as members. The committees were already approved by the district in-charge Minister and would be imparted three-day training from February 14. In order to involve people's representatives of the villages concerned in implementation of the second phase, the Collector said he would be writing letters to them enclosing the relevant guidelines.
Training
He said district-level resource persons would impart the necessary training to mandal-level resource persons. Similarly, village-level monitoring committees would be addressed letters on their duties and responsibilities. Special officers at mandal level were appointed to ensure effective implementation of the programme.
