Kavita murder case: Minister questioned
New Delhi:
The CBI on Tuesday questioned former Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Minister Mehrajuddin Ahmed in connection with its probe in the mysterious disappearance and alleged murder of Meerut University lecturer Kavita Malik.
The Minister was summoned to the CBI headquarters here in the morning and questioned by the sleuths of Special Crime at length about his relations with Kavita, official sources said.
The sources said the need to question Mr. Mehrajuddin was felt after the CBI has stumbled upon some video and other material suggesting that the former Minister had a relation with Kavita who had gone missing since October last year. The Minister, after being in the thick of the controversy, had resigned from Rashtriya Lok Dal on December 25 but denied his involvement in the case.
