Urology camp

CHENNAI: As part of Sri Ramachandra's Wellness Programme, SRMC@Alwarpet has organised a six-day urology screening camp at 22, Bawa Road in Alwarpet from February 19 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The screening package will include investigations such as uroflowmetry, ultrasound and PSA tests at a concession. Elected

Babu Rajendran, director and vice-president of The Eye Research Foundation (TERF), Vijaya Hospital, has been elected vice-president of the 11,000-member All India Ophthalmological

Society (AIOS).

Dr. Rajendran was the chairman of the scientific committee of the society (1992-2002) and president of Tamil Nadu Ophthalmic Association three years ago.

Course for slum people, poor women

The Stenographers' Guild, T. Nagar, will introduce an executive secretary course for people living in the slums and poor women from Monday. The Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board is sponsoring

the course.

The students will be taught spoken English, MS Office, computer keyboarding, communication skills and shorthand. Those, who have passed class XII and are less than 35 years of age, will be eligible. Civil Services coaching classes

Sankara College of Arts and Science and Excell Career India will conduct coaching classes for civil services examination and soft skills training at Sankara College, Enathur, for aspirants from Kancheepuram district. The centre, to be inaugurated on Thursday, will begin classes

on Sunday.
