MANGALORE: From the half-constructed Vidhana Soudha to the grandeur of Mysore Dasara, a photo exhibition inaugurated in the city on Tuesday attempts to capture the history and culture of Karnataka over the last 50 years. Photos of the milk revolution, the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit held in Bangalore, National Games, and Jnanpith Award winners are some of the highlights of the exhibition. Pradip Kumar Kalkura, president of the Dakshina Kannada district unit of Kannada Sahitya Parishat inaugurated the exhibition. He said that the exhibition captured the essence of the State. "It gives us a perspective on how we could move towards modernity without disregarding the past," he said. Chandrakala Nandavar, principal, Ganapathi Pre University College, presided over the inaugural function. The exhibition has been organised by the Information Department as part of Suvarna Karnataka celebrations. It will be on from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Ganapathi High School till Friday.
