IMPHAL:
All arrangements are in place for the second phase of Manipur Assembly polls on Wednesday, covering 29 constituencies, according to Chief Electoral Officer R.R. Rashmi.
Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur districts come under this phase. There are 155 candidates, including eight women. Three former Chief Ministers and several sitting and former Ministers are in the fray. Wahengbam Leima, the only woman Minister, is seeking re-election from Imphal West district.
Official documents
The Manipur Government had issued photo identity cards to all voters and in its absence, the electorate could use any of the 15 official documents to exercise their franchise, the Chief Electoral Officer said.
