HYDERABAD: Early starters have a distinct advantage. Have strong concepts and learning becomes more application oriented. These were the key messages that were communicated to the scores of young boys and girls who attended Scholarship Test conducted by TIME in association with The Hindu Education Plus on Sunday at Keshav Memorial High School, Narayanguda and Tagore Auditorium on Osmania University campus. The need for career planning at a very early stage in the student's academic career was also emphasised through seminars that followed the scholarship tests. Over 2,000 students from classes VII, VIII and IX appeared for the test and the seminars along with their parents. The meritorious among them will win cash prizes based on their performance in the test. The seminars also emphasised the importance of identifying and developing the aptitude, the need to consciously work on improving soft skills like communication skills and the need to link learning to real life situations for thorough understanding of the concepts. TIME founder directors Manek Daruvala and P. Viswanath, who addressed the gathering, said that apart from cash prizes, good performers would also obtain scholarships on IIT Foundation Course offered by TIME. The classes will be conducted at Secunderabad, Nallakunta, S.R. Nagar, A.S. Rao Nagar, Dilsukhnagar and Kukatpally.
