KFCC protest throws traffic out of gear

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: After a long-weekend and particularly the forced holiday on Monday, heavy movement of traffic was witnessed in the entire city since Tuesday morning with several junctions and roads in the central parts of the city witnessing traffic jams.

Several protest programmes against the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal, including the one organised by the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), contributed much to the already worse traffic.

Traffic police had diverted traffic for more than one hour on the routes where the KFCC protest, featuring the stars of Kannada film industry was to pass through — Crescent Road, Race Course Road and Raj Bhavan Road.

With the KFCC protest, vehicle movement in the central business district came to a grinding halt for over an hour.
