R.K. Sharma denies affair with Shivani

NEW DELHI:
Ravi Kant Sharma, prime accused in the murder of journalist Shivani Bhatnagar in 1999, on Tuesday denied knowing three of the accused, who have been charged with killing Shivani at his behest, at the time of the incident. Recording his statement before Additional Sessions Judge Rajender Kumar under Section 313 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Mr. Sharma said he did not know Ved Prakash, Sri Bhagwan and Satya Prakash nor the nature of their work or their bank accounts.
Mr. Sharma said he was aware that Shivani had gone to London on a scholarship as she had given his wife's name as the local reference. He said Shivani knew several BJP leaders. He denied that Shivani was in love with him.
