First Day Cover on golden jubilee of High Court released

BANGALORE: The Indian postal service, like the Railways, is a symbol of national unity and pride, Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka Cyriac Joseph said while presiding over a function to release First Day Cover on the golden jubilee of the High Court here on Wednesday.

He said the High Court had invited people from different walks of life to participate in the celebrations as it wanted to bring people closer to the High Court.

Senior judge S.R. Bannurmath said the goals and objectives the High Court had set for itself during the celebrations had been achieved due to the cooperation of the advocates and staff.

Schemes

Chief Post Master General Meera Datta said the department had started several schemes and thanked the advocates for their continued patronage. She spoke on the relevance of the Postal Department and the "human touch" of the postmen which made them get acquainted with every person in a locality.

President of the Advocates Association of Bangalore D.L. Jagadeesh and the association secretary M. Partha spoke. High Court judges, employees and members of the subordinate judiciary were present.
