Samaresh on target again

GUWAHATI: Samaresh Jung (Himachal Pradesh) took his second individual gold, in the 10m air pistol event, on the fourth day of the shooting competitions of the National Games at the 4th AP Battalion ranges, Khalipara, on Wednesday.

Samaresh had a total of 685.0 points, scoring 586 in the competition series and 99.0 in the final, to finish ahead of Deepak Sharma (Haryana) and Amanpreet Singh (Punjab).

Chhattisgarh's Mohammed Ashab was the winner of the double trap gold with a total of 157.

The results: Men: 10m air pistol: 1. Samaresh Jung (HP) 685.0 points, 2. Deepak Sharma (Har) 673.7, 3. Amanpreet Singh (Pun) 672.8. Team: 1. Services (1723), 2. Haryana (1708), 3. Tamil Nadu (1701).

Double trap: 1. Mohammed Ashab (Chat) 157, 2. Himanshu (SSCB) 153, 3. Dil Bahadur Thapa (SSCB) 146. Team: 1. Services (322), 2. Delhi (266).
