Corrections and Clarifications

The third paragraph of a report "Let us begin from this beautiful example: Chinese Foreign Minister" (February 13, 2007) was: "The Chinese Foreign Minister arrived here from Beijing on Sunday and drove to Nalanda, taking the same path taken by the 7 A.D. traveller from China to Nalanda University as a student and returned after a stint as teacher." "... the 7 A.D. traveller" should have been "... the 7th Century A.D. traveller".

A PTI report "FMs of India, Russia, China meet today" (Internet edition, February 14, 2007) gave the name of Russia's Foreign Minister as Sergei Ivanov. It should have been Sergei Lavrov. Sergei Ivanov is Russia's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister.

The second paragraph of a report "`A repetition of 1994 accord'"

("International" page, February 14, 2007) was: "The 1994 deal, called the `framework agreement,' unravelled in 2002 after the Clinton administration accused Pyongyang of seeking to produce weapons-grade uranium." It should have been the Bush administration. (President Clinton was in office from January 20, 1993 to January 20, 2001.)

A report "Birla group buys Novelis" (February 12, 2007) stated that Novelis is a Canadian aluminium maker, while the editorial "Globalising Indian companies" (February 13, 2007) said that Novelis Inc. is a U.S.-based

aluminium products maker. Novelis is based in Atlanta (U.S.) and is a spin-off from the Canadian aluminium giant Alcan Inc.
