PUDUCHERRY: The Second Additional District Judge Annamalai on Wednesday sentenced two persons to six months imprisonment each and ordered them to pay a fine of Rs. 3 lakh in a case of copyright infringement. According to prosecution the two men A. Arokiadas and Mohammed Mustafa had screened a new movie titled "Vettu onnu Thundu Rendu" on a local cable channel in 1998 in Puducherry. The movie had been acted and produced by actor Mansoor Ali khan. Following this, Mansoor Ali Khan preferred a complaint with the Orleanpet police station. In 2001, the then Judicial Magistrate II had sentenced the men to two years imprisonment each and ordering them to pay a fine of Rs.5 lakh.
