Teacher found dead on railway track

ALAPPUZHA: The body of a schoolteacher was recovered from a railway track near the Janata Market level-crossing, Mararikkulam South panchayat on Wednesday.

The police identified the deceased as Rashmitha (23), Padinjare Makkiyil House, Mararikkulam South panchayat.

The teacher was working on a temporary basis at Mulavanad Government Lower Primary School here, the police said.

The police suspect that Rashmitha might have been run over by a train.

The Mararikkulam South police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
