BHUBANESWAR: Aquaculture entrepreneurs on Wednesday urged the State Government to declare aquaculture and fisheries on a par with agriculture to take advantage of huge potential. While Andhra Pradesh exported aqua goods to the tune of Rs 1,550 crore last year, Orissa earned foreign exchange of only Rs 376 crores, they said. " The aqua cultivation will surely get a boost once farmers start availing themselves of lower power tariff and save land conversion charges," Ramesh Mohapatra, President of Seafood Exporters Association of India-Orissa Region (SEAIO), told mediapersons.
