MANGALORE: St. Aloysius College, here, is organising a one-day workshop on Communicative language teaching (CLT) for English teachers in institutions coming under Mangalore University, on February 15. According to A. Lourdusamy, Head of the English Department of the college, the workshop had been designed to look at English as the main communicative language at a time when language teaching had gained importance all over the world. Peter Francis, scholar of English Language Teaching, from Loyola College, Chennai, will be the resource person at the workshop. To extend the scope of English learning and teaching, the college was also organising a seminar on "Careers in Media", he said. The event is being held as part of the decennial celebrations of introduction of Communicative English as an optional subject for B.A. in Mangalore University and in the college.
