Campaign on food quality in hotels

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The MCH will be conducting a workshop for hotels and other eateries next month to launch an awareness campaign on maintaining food quality, storage and general hygiene standards, Commissioner Sanjay Jaju said on Wednesday.

He asserted that the corporation was keeping a regular tab on the quality of food being served and the general hygiene standards in hotels as its food inspectors pick up samples on a regular basis. When pointed out that even star hotels seem to be erring, Mr. Jaju said the civic body could launch prosecutions only after lab tests on food samples prove conclusive.
