Bus stolen from MGBS
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
A bus was stolen from the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) in Afzalgunj within half-an-hour of the driver parking on Wednesday.
The APSRTC's Banswada depot bus reached the MGBS around 4 a.m.
Driver Shaik Ismail parked the vehicle near the alighting point. After taking rest for a couple of hours, he woke up and drove the bus to platform no. 47.
With no space available on the platform, he took the vehicle to a corner, stopped it there and went to answer nature's call. The driver returned 30 minutes later and was aghast on not finding the bus.
He and conductor Peter thoroughly searched the premises and approached the Afzalgunj police. This is the third time a bus was stolen from Afzalgunj area.
Unidentified persons stole a bus parked at MGBS on August 2, 2005 and abandoned it on the outskirts of Siddipet, 90 km from here, before taking away one of its tyres. Again on August 10, 2006, a bus parked in Central Bus Station's hanger was stolen. It was, however, found parked in MGBS the next day.
In both the case, the persons responsible for stealing the buses could be traced.
