60 tolas gold, 3 lakhs stolen

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Thieves allegedly took away gold ornaments weighing 60 tolas and Rs. 3 lakhs from a businessman's house at Troupbazar in Sultan Bazar police station area on Wednesday.

The trader Atul and his wife Nivedita left for their shop in the morning.

They locked the iron grill on the ground floor but forgot to lock a similar grill installed on the first floor. The offenders entered the house through the unlocked grills and made off with the gold and cash collected from the house.

The businessman learnt about the theft after returning home late in the night and approached the local police.
