Health City will be ready in two years

`It will have 5,000 beds and cater to 20,000 out-patients daily'

Bangalore: The Health City project, being developed by Narayana Hrudayalaya will have 5,000 beds in the two years, Devi Prasad Shetty, cardiac surgeon and Chairman and Managing Director of Narayana Hrudayalaya said here on Wednesday. Speaking at the inauguration of the M.S. Ramaiah-Narayana Hrudayalaya Heart Centre, which is a collaborative effort of the cardiac care hospital and M.S. Ramaiah group of hospitals to give affordable cardiac care to needy patients, Dr. Shetty said once the health city was fully functional, around 20,000 out-patients were expected to visit the various medical centres on the campus.

One of the research centres in Health City was conducting research on developing a vaccine for the prevention of heart attacks, he added.
