Drugs smuggled from India seized

New Delhi: Belgian officials at Antwerp have seized around 1.2 tonnes of high-quality hashish being smuggled from Mumbai to Canada.

The consignment, valued at Rs. 6 crore in the domestic market, was concealed in a container on board the ship Thuringa Express that set sail from the Nhavasheva port off Mumbai on January 14 and anchored at Antwerp port on February 3, Narcotics Control Bureau officials said here on Wednesday. Indian officials, who got to know about the consignment after they cracked a similar racket here last month, tipped off Belgian Customs.— PTI
