BELLARY: Have you faced problems while copying, pasting or downloading Kannada documents sent using one Kannada software into another? Soon you will be able to download a software developed by Kannada University, Hampi, that will solve this problem. "Kuvempu Kannada Software," the Beta version (1.0) of the new software named after Kuvempu, will be dedicated on February 17 in Bangalore. It will also be demonstrated on the occasion. B.A. Vivek Rai, Vice-Chancellor of the university, told The Hindu that the software included beautifully designed fonts and borders and a converter that would solve compatibility problems. The idea to develop it was mooted by writer Poorna Chandra Tejasvi, he said. The software would be hosted on the university website and could be downloaded free of cost after the launch, he said.
