Novell's offering of Linux, Windows

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: The India development centre of Novell here will collaborate on `virtualisation' products that promote interoperability and compatibility of Microsoft Windows and Linux.

Novell Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Jeffrey Jaffe told reporters here on Wednesday that the business strategy of Microsft and Novell was to make interoperability easier for organisations with users of both Windows and Linux. "These two will be the largely used operating systems and we are making their interoperability easier,'' Mr. Jeffrey Jaffe said.

As part of the seamless interoperability in office applications, Novell is cooperating with Microsoft and others on an open source project to create a bi-directional `translator' for documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
