Coimbatore: Branden Grace of South Africa proved he is no pushover as he stunned second seed Anirbhan Lahiri 5&4 in the second round of the 106th Royal Challenge all-India amateur golf championship on Thursday. Local favourite Joseph Chakola quietly sailed into the quarterfinals defeating Gagan Verma 3&2. Joining Chakola in the round of last eight were three-time winner of the Sri Lankan amateur and fifth seed Simarjeet Singh, third seed Ruan Botha of South Africa, top seed Abhishek Jha and 24th seed Akshay Butta. The results: Pre-quarterfinals: Joseph Chakola bt Gagan Verma 3&2; Abhishek Jha bt Ajai Sirohi 3&1; Akshay Butta bt Shaurya Singh 1-up; Simarjeet Singh bt Mohammad Siddikur (Bangladesh) 3&2; Ruan Botha (South Africa) bt Mithun Perera (Sri Lanka) 5&3.
