KADAPA: Two persons of Kolar district in Karnataka were killed and 30 others sustained severe injuries when a lorry carrying them overturned near Rathanachala Anjeneya Swamy temple on Kadiri ghat road on Kadiri-Pulivendula road at the district border on Thursday. Krishnappa (32) and B. Nanjundappa (40) of Gadivandlapalle village of Bagepally taluk in Karnataka died instantly in the accident, according to Pulivendula Circle Inspector Rajeswar Reddy. Thirty others including the lorry driver, all of the same village, sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Kadiri and Anantapur Government hospitals.
Four held
Meanwhie, the Chinna Chowk police unravelled the mystery behind the murder of Shaik Mahabub Basha alias Dada (26) on Chalamareddipalle road here by apprehending four accused youths. Syed Zakir Hussain of Proddatur, life convict, released three months ago, after serving eight years imprisonment, Pathan Sher Khan, a rowdy, Syed Fayaz of Kadapa and Shaik Noor Mohammed of Pulivendula, both involved in attempt-to-murder cases earlier, were nabbed, Kadapa DSP D. Narasimha Reddy told newsmen here on Thursday.
