Pattabhishekam of seer

BELGAUM: A large number of devotees of the Durdundeshwar Virakt Math at Kadoli near here witnessed the Pattabhishekam of Sri Vishwmahant Devaru on Thursday.

The ceremony was conducted at the hands of his "guru" Sri Siddhaling Swami of Arabhavi, in presence of Sri Sidram Swami of Nagnur Math and Sri Gurusidda Swami of Karanji Math. Heads of several Veerashaiva maths in the district were present.

Born on July 1, 1978, the young seer from Gokak, who will be hereafter be known as Sri Gurubasavaling Mahaswamiji, obtained his post graduation in Hindi from the Banaras Hindu University. He is committed to social causes. The event was followed by felicitations of Sri Siddhaling Swami and Sri Gurubasavaling Mahaswami by Lok Sabha member Suresh C. Angadi, former Minister Malharigouda S. Patil and other invitees. The new building of the math was also inaugurated. Bhajans, keertans and poojas were held.
