Jayalalithaa's charge against Government
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI:
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Jayalalithaa on Monday alleged that the State Government was going ahead with a proposal to construct a bus station at Tindivanam on a lakebed, ignoring a Government order that tank and lake land should not be encroached upon.
In a statement here, Ms. Jayalalithaa said when the AIADMK government was in power, it had allotted Wakf Board land for constructing the new bus stand. Tenders were floated for the construction works. But, the present Government had shelved the move and planned to utilise the lakebed.
