KOLLAM: Minister for Education M.A. Baby has called upon all concerned to popularise Right to Information (RTI) Act. Inaugurating the State-level awareness campaign organised by the State Literacy Mission in Kottarakara on Thursday, the Minister said that any awareness on citizens' rights would serve to awaken society. Such an awareness will serve to create an awareness on democracy in society. It will also inculcate responsibility among the citizens and serve to clean society. He said that only if people are aware of their rights will they be able to earn it. On the occasion, the Minister released a booklet on the Right to Information Act brought out by the State Literacy Mission by handing over a copy to District Literacy Mission officer S.P. Hariharan Unnithan. Director of the State Literacy Mission N. Jayadevan read the report. He said that more than 1,000 awareness camps on the Right to Information Act will be conducted in each district. The inaugural function was presided over by Kottarakara MLAP. Aisha Potti.
