THE CHAMPIONS: Tamil Nadu women put it across West Bengal to clinch the gold.
GUWAHATI: West Bengal men and Tamil Nadu women won the table tennis gold in the 33rd National Games at the Tarunram Phookan Indoor Stadium here on Thursday. The Tamil Nadu women recorded a 3-1 win over West Bengal, but the men lost to West Bengal 3-0. J. Swarna gave a perfect start defeating Nandita Saha losing just one game. In the second tie, K. Shamini, the India No.2, made it 2-0 defeating Mousami Paul. With M. Aparna losing the third match to Sushmita Roy, the onus was on Swarna to prevent the match from going into the decider.
