Notification for MLC polls issued

ADILABAD: Adilabad Joint Collector and Returning Officer for Legislative Council elections A. Dinakar Babu on Thursday notified elections to the local authority constituency in the district. Elections will be held for the graduates, teachers and local authority constituencies on March 17 and counting for Authority constituency will be taken up on March 21 while for graduates and teachers constituencies it will be taken up on March 23.

Nominations for local authority constituency will be accepted at Adilabad collectorate, for the other two constituencies have to be filed at Karimnagar collectorate. Of the 130 polling stations in the district 59 will be earmarked for the Local Authority constituency election.

There are 19,578 graduate voters, 2,852 teacher voters and 814 belonging to Local Authorities. The security deposit amount for SC, ST candidates is Rs. 2,500 and for others it is Rs. 5,000.
