MANGALORE: The "Engquest 07" organised by the St. Aloysius college, here on Thursday, began with a call to take up the study of languages, particularly English, seriously. Delivering the inaugural address Principal of Besant Women's College K.T. Manjula called for taking a holistic view of English teaching, learning and speaking, by the academicians and experts of English teaching. At the time when global boundaries were crumbling, it was desirable that the students hone right skills, especially that of communication and comprehension, she said. Prof. Manjula said that the experts should get together to formulate a cohesive training programme on language learning skill. Rector of the college Francis Serrao presided over the inaugural function.Principal of the college Dr. Eugene Lobo andHead of the Department of English at the college A. Lourdusamy were present.
