A day when the roads were not chock-a-block with traffic

Staff ReporterGOVIND D. BELGAUMKAR

BAnGALORE: Everyone who hit the road in their vehicles on Monday boasted how fast they could reach their destinations in top gear. They are sure to remember the rare opportunity the bandh provided. Many revelled in jaywalking, avoiding zebra crossing. An artist who crossed the Indian Express Circle thus talks about how a motorist honked and he said: "It was our (pedestrians') day," suggesting that people were the first-class citizens for one day at least.
