Closed for Sivaratri

The District Election Officer has announced that the all designated photo lamination centres for issuing photo electoral identity cards in all the 13 assembly constituencies will remain closed on Friday on account of Mahasivaratri.

Plea to open road

People's Union for Civic Action and Rights has appealed to the Government to open the existing road from Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital Circle to Rethi Bowli to ease traffic congestion in peak hours due to the ongoing elevated expressway project work. The above road passing through the cantonment area was in use by the public till 10 years ago but the military authorities citing security reasons had closed it.

Exhibition extended

The All India Industrial Exhibition has been extended up to February 18 (Sunday) in view of the heavy rush, according to a press release.

Office-bearers elected

The HMWSSB Women's Welfare Association elected its new body at the Institution of Engineers here on Wednesday. Gollowing are the new office-bearers: A. Vijayalakshmi (president), N. Swaroopa Rani (vice president), M. Dhanalakshmi (honorary secretary), A. Seetha Mahalakshmi (joint secretary) and L. Pramila (honorary treasurer).
