Meet of legal services authorities

Kochi: The 6th all-India meet of Legal Services Authorities of States will be held on Saturday. Addressing a press conference, J.B. Koshy, High Court Judge and Executive Chairman of the Kerala Legal Services Authority, said it was the first time that such a meet was being held in the State. Chief Justice of India K.G. Balakrishnan would inaugurate the meet at the Kerala Fine Arts Hall at 10 a.m. Ashok Bhan, Supreme Court Judge and Executive Chairman of National Legal Services Authority, will preside. Arijit Pasayat and S.B. Sinha, Supreme Court judges, will speak.

Supplyco fair

Kochi: A special fair, opened by Supplyco as part of measures to control the escalating prices of essential commodities, was inaugurated by the councillor Padmanabhan at Supplyco Super Market, Panampilly Nagar, on Thursday. The first sale was inaugurated by the councillor Thankaraj. The fair will continue till February 21.

Special school fete

Kochi: The State-level Special Schools Festival for mentally challenged children will be inaugurated by the Kerala High Court Judge Kurien Joseph at 4.30 p.m. on Friday at Ernakulam YMCA. Nearly 2,000 students from 150 special schools in the State will participate in the three-day festival. The festival will begin with a colourful march past from Ernakulam YMCA, which will pass through Rajaji Road, to Mahatma Gandhi Road.
