Two arrested

Thiruvananthapuram: The Thampanoor police have arrested two persons on charges of pick-pocketing Rs.15,000 from Pichayya, a wholesale vendor of sweets from Tamil Nadu, at East Fort. Chandrababu, 40, of Uzhamalakkal, Nedumangad and Baiju, 20, of Pattom have several cases of pick-pocketing against them at various police stations in the city, the police said. They were remanded to judicial custody. — Staff Reporter

Building tax

Thiruvananthapuram: City residents can remit building tax without arrears or fine at the Corporation, as per the one-time payment scheme introduced by the Government. All collection counters in the Corporation will function on all holidays also till March 31 for the convenience of taxpayers. Taxpayers in Kannammoola ward can remit building tax from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. on Friday at Government UP School, Kunnukuzhy. — Staff Reporter

Bone mineral density check

Thiruvananthapuram: Free bone mineral density check will be conducted by the Orthopaedics department at Ananthapuri hospital on Friday, from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. Women above 35 years and men above 40 years may undergo this test. Consultancy service from doctors is also available.
