`Hold investors' meet in Haveri'

HAVERI: Regional Development Commissioner (Belgaum Division) Amita Prasad has asked the Haveri Deputy Commissioner to take steps to hold an investors' meet in Haveri. This would pave the way for construction of an IT Miniature Park in Haveri district, Ms. Amita Prasad told presspersons here on Wednesday.

She said the district had potential to become a tourism hub and the district administration should send the requisite proposals in this regard. Bankapur Fort area was fit to be converted into a museum. Byadgi was famous for chilli business and Savanur for Khara (chooda) like the Dharwad peda. Byadgi and Savanur products should reach the global market and to make it happen, one should attract investors to the region, she said. She said drought-relief works should be completed before March 31. Officials had been directed to take steps to provide jobs to landless labourers, she said.
