RIMC entrance exam to be held on June 1, 2

BANGALORE: The entrance examination for admission to the eighth standard in Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehra Dun, for the term beginning January 2008, will be held in Bangalore on June 1 and 2, according to an RIMC press release.

Boys from the State who have attained the age of 13 as on January 1, 2008 are eligible to apply. They should be studying in, or have passed, the seventh standard.

The written part of the examination will consist of three papers: English, mathematics and general knowledge. The mathematics and general knowledge papers can be answered in Hindi or English. Interviews will be held only for those who pass the written examination.

Application form, prospectus and old question paper books can be obtained at the office of the Director, Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement, No. 58, Field Marshal Cariappa Bhavan, Field Marshal Cariappa Road, by presenting a State Bank of India demand draft for Rs. 250 drawn in favour of the Director, Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement, Bangalore, payable at Bangalore.

Those who want the application form by registered post should send a self-addressed 11x9 inch envelope with Rs. 40 stamp. The last date for receipt of application is March 31. For further details, call 25589459.
